About SHPE
Chapter History
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Greater San Fernando Valley Chapter was established in 1988. Our goal is to establish a platform which raises STEM awareness in the community, maintains a support system for students to graduate and provides leadership development opportunities for STEM professionals.

SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development.

- 1974 – SHPE National Established
- 1988 – SHPE GSFV Established
- 1989 – SHPE GSFV Partners with CSUN
- 1991 – SHPE Ventura County Established
- 1993 – SHPE GSFV Experiences Difficulty
- 1998 – SHPE GSFV Becomes Dominant
- 2012 – SHPE GSFV Revived
- 2012 – SHPE GSFV Establishes Noche de CIencias
